In a small town in the Philippines—full of military wives and cackling gossips—everyone knows everyone else’s business. But when the beautiful and intriguing Pilar inexplicably shows up after being gone for years, all the neighborhood ladies go into a tizzy while the neighborhood men line up in droves for her massage services. But no one is more entranced than 12-year-old Anita, a smart-mouthed tomboy who enjoys playing war games.

Simon and Wai-Tung Gao are a happy gay couple living in Manhattan, kilometers away from Wai-Tung’s parents who keep wondering why his son is still single. To relieve the tension between Wai-Tung and his parents, Simon suggests a marriage of convenience between Wei-Tung and Wei-Wei, an immigrant in need of a green card. But when Wei-Tung's parents come to America for the wedding, what was meant to be a simple wedding becomes an elaborate banquet, resulting in several complications during the preparations and after the banquet.

Min-Soo, a young doctor in present day South Korea, lives in fear of his parents discovering his homosexuality. His solution: to marry his pretty co-worker Hyo-Jin, who lives in the apartment across the hall with her lesbian lover. Both can then pretend to live together and pass themselves off as heterosexual. All seems to go well until Min-Soo’s parents begin to get suspicious, forcing Min-Soo to realize that living only to please others often does everyone more harm than good.

On a warm spring day Min-soo, a small boy, meets tall and broad-shouldered Seok inside a bus. Min-soo keeps looking at the tough boy whose sharp eyes are hidden under his baseball cap. Min-soo’s heart starts beating. What will happen to Min-soo and Seok?

Expecting a cozy night outside of the barracks, Seok visits his boyfriend Min-soo who is serving in the military. However they run into Min-soo’s mother there. When his mother questions their relationship, the only answer they can give is that they are ‘just friends.’ Unexpectedly, they spend the night with Min-soo’s mother.

Bridegroom tells the emotional journey of Shane and Tom, two young men in a loving and committed relationship — a relationship that was cut tragically short by a misstep off the side of a roof. The story of what happened after this accidental death– of how people without the legal protections of marriage can find themselves completely shut out and ostracized– is poignant, enraging and opens a window onto the issue of marriage equality like no speech or lecture ever will.
